How to Avoid It While there’s no way to avoid the fear of starting your company, the following can help put the fear in perspective: The up-front fear is a big indicator that you’re going to grow as a person if you proceed through it. And, frankly, the terror wears off pretty quickly. It’s true. Surprisingly, anything is much easier the second time. And the third. And by the fourth time you can’t even feel the hair on the back of your neck, or the sweat in your palms because it’s no longer there. The terror goes away surprisingly quickly. The interesting thing is that the more you taste this growth, the more you want it. It’s a rush, and it’s addictive.
